Walk-in Contraceptive Services
Get all your contraceptive care in one place: the Branch Health Clinic Apra Harbor walk-in contraceptive clinic.
All beneficiaries, regardless of gender identity, are eligible for care and counseling at walk-in contraceptive clinics and can receive education on safe sexual practices, contraceptives, and STI prevention and treatment.
The clinic is open Thursdays, 1 - 3:30 p.m.
Services Offered
We offer the following products and services:
- Contraception Counseling
- IUD (Insertion/Removal)
- Nexplanon (Insertion/Removal)
- Birth Control Patch, Ring or Injection
- Birth Control Pill (New prescription/Refills)
- Emergency Contraception (Plan B, Ella, IUD)

For those who are certain they never want to become pregnant in the future, permanent female sterilization is available through the OB/GYN department (referral required, no minimum age or number of previous pregnancies). Permanent male sterilization is available through the urology department (referral required, no minimum age or number of children) or through the Family Medicine or Branch Health Clinic, without a referral.
Beneficiaries who have had recent unprotected intercourse (within 72 hours) can obtain Plan B through the Naval Hospital pharmacy without a prescription. Other emergency contraception options, such as prescription Ella (a pill that can work up to 96 hours later) or an IUD (up to five days later) are also available and may be more effective than Plan B, but require a doctor's visit. All forms of emergency contraception should be obtained as soon as possible; effectiveness decreases rapidly as time passes.
